Spiders' legs are hairy so they can feel the most minute vibrations in the web or a preditor lurking closeby. They can also tell the breeze that carries rain with it's humidity.

They use the vibrations through the legs to know which direction is the prey coming from or where is the odor coming from so they can react fast as they go

more hair more safe when it become likely to fall from the net it has more opportunity to keep sticking to its net made by its self.
