Yes, you can open it up and remove the battery. You can PRE-HEAT your oven to the lowest setting. Once it has warmed up, you can turn it OFF.
Then place your Cell phone parts on a towel, over a cookie sheet. Do not put the battery in the oven.
In about 20 minutes, remove it from the oven and let it cool down. Once cool, re-assemble the Cellphone, and it will probably be fine again. Hopefully, even the display will clear up completely.
But yes, getting the insurance for a couple bucks a month might be worth it to you.

Sometimes you can take the phone apart and lay the pieces out to dry, or take a hair dryer and blow them dry. It's no guarantee. If water's gotten too deep inside the phone, it's shot and you'll need to replace it with a new one. If that's the case, you might want to go ahead and get an upgrade with a discount if you plan on keeping your service. Usually you can get some sort of discount with a new contract, and if you want to add insurance, you'll sometimes have to do that only with a new purchase or exchange, anyway. Good luck.

I did the same. I let it lay out for a few days. I just took off the covers and took out the battery and it was fine then. I do have another phone that was about 2 weeks before that time that I also got water on and I had to send it in to get fixed. I'm sure it would have worked if I hadn't turned it back on. So if you haven't yet, don't turn it back on until you wait a few days!

at first, if this ever occurs back, immediately get it out of the water and do away with the battery and don't placed it back till the telephone is dry. in case you run modern-day contained in direction of the telephone after it is moist, you're plenty extra probably to fry the telephone. i understand it is complicated to stand up to the temptation to be sure in case your telephone will potential on after its gotten moist, yet its ultimate to instruct it on purely after its dry. With that being pronounced, take the telephone aside as much as attainable, meaning take the battery out of the telephone, do away with the back door (if desirable) and dry the telephone off with a towel. Then placed all the aspects in a zipper-suitable bag with dry rice in it. The dry rice will help pull the moisture out of the telephone. depart it interior the bag a pair of days. Reassemble the telephone and attempt to potential it on. I hate to declare it, yet maximum probably your telephone won't function correct, yet optimistically you would be waiting to get it to potential up so which you would be able to get the telephone numbers out. I genuinely have been fixing cellular telephones for an prolonged time and customarily whilst they initiate consistently vibrating and don't potential on each of how (won't circulate to the best demonstrate screen) they are goners. in case you have a sturdy third-social gathering broking that has a tech on group and notice in the event that they'll sparkling the telephone out. company shops oftentimes won't try this for you because of the criminal duty, yet third social gathering sellers don't have the comparable strict regulations to persist with.

Call up your provider and put extended insurance coverage on it, suck it up for a couple weeks then go in and report it, there may be a small deductible but it's better than paying $400 bucks for a new phone!

Mate, take it from me, your phone is buggered, stuffed, no good! I got my just a tiny bit wet, and it was useless from then on. I sent it back to the phone compnay to repair, and they charged me an arm and a leg.
My advice, get rid of the phone, and go out and get yourself a cheap pre-paid phone. The just put your sim card it the new one. Its the cheapest way to go.
