Don't go to Lake Houston, it's gross. Go to Lake Conroe or Lake Livingston.

There's Lake Houston in the NE around the Atascocita area.

There's the one in Hermann Park. But I think the closest big lake is Lake Conroe

Lake Livingston, its not exactly in the Houston city limits. But its a start. We typically don't have lakes here, we have bayous.
