Poor customer service trickles down from higher levels up in a business. One of the problems with business today is that managment is outcome based. They want results but at the expense of the employee's well being. So, to improve customer service a business has to treat their employees the exact same was as they would want the employees to treat the customers. More often than not, poor service is a result of poor manaement. I would go as far as to say that not only is good customer service a thing of the past, good management is also. One of the strongest key principals is being able to esteem others higher than yourself as a manager, keep business in order but at the same time keep employees encouraged and motivated. If a business can build this into their work force, then customer service will improve. Another important principal is being careful who you hire in the first place. Poor hiring practices can destroy a business.

I wish Yahoo would open a GRIPE section. Everything from the Gas Company showing up 2 hours late, to retail stores lack of customer service, to insurance company nightmares.
I think if we saw how companies treated their customers we could make better choices in where and with whom we shop.

There is always room for improvement. It really comes down to treating others the way that you want to be treated.Sometimes customers have a bad day or want to shift blame for a broken item, sometimes clerks have a bad day or have just finished with people before you that were unkind.Be the change.Create the space of peace in the world.

They don't know how to serve. Example : A question was posted the other day and the person said" I work in retail why do the customers treat us like slaves?" I answered " Your job is to wait on customers . You are there to serve us that is your job description. If you don't like your work find another job." "They call it work not fun!" She deleted the question! People don't understand they call it work for a reason, that is why they pay you.

Granted in some businesses ther is very poor customersrevice or lack of for that matter. however i work in a cs dept. and its not that we are dumb or rude its that most of the time we pick up after what the original "sales" person screwed up on,so now we how to fix the problem w/ unhappy people. secondly we deal w/ people taking care of things last minute so when ther is a holding period it is because of the high volume of work that needs to be processed. and angry rude people can make anypersons day turn bad....so think about this please next time you have to deal w/a cs rep....

I think they're fine. Way better than what you'd get in Europe, that's for sure. They may be slow or dumb, but not rude.
