I don't like movie critics reviews cause they always seem to hate the best movies but like the worst (except ones a lot of people like Lord of the Rings). What do they look for in any movie when reviewing to give it a good grade?

The reason why so many movie critics’ opinions deviate from that of popular opinion is because; many of them come from liberal arts or journalistic backgrounds. Hence, they have an affinity for highbrow literature and art of a sophisticated nature. So it is rare for a critic to go into, say an action movie that is popular with the masses and enjoy it the way common people do because they are always looking to derive greater meaning from the movie than the movie makers intend.

There are SO many critics out there, that I will go to http://www.rottentomatoes.com to get some feedback from all kinds of critics, not just the big ones. It is just a way to help me out to decide for DVD or in the theatre or if I need to see it at all. I don't care what one or two think, but I don't mind a majority kind of rule just to decide if I need to wait in lines for hours and hours or just wait til later, it's no big deal.

I think they are always having higher expectations, basing it on past work. Take the "Lakehouse" for an example. It is a "fantasy" and also a remake of a Korean film. It is a "supernatural" kind of thing. But the critics, instead of criticizing the film for the cast and the mood, instead wanted to criticize the "scientifics" of the mailbox and time span.

BUT these are the same critics who many years ago loved the movie "Ghost" and didn't criticize the spiritual voodoo of that either. I think critics are all very closed minded and don't go to a movie to see a story (that's all a movie is) but expect it to change their lives forever. It's a movie .... 2 hours of escaping your own story.

i have not considered the movie yet yet i quite loved the first one. mostly I have a tendency to disagree at the same time as critics hate a movie and videos they imagine are ok i respect and videos they love i imagine are ok (that became complicated lol). besides it is all opinion, except you'll locate a critic with similar likes and dislikes as your self it is quite ineffective to study what they might want to say. I also won't be able to have self belief someone used "cult movie" as an insult, no longer something beats a sturdy cult classic, no longer something. yet both way Transformers is genuinely no longer a cult classic considering the fact that they have a tendency to be videos that do not do properly on the field workplace yet then slowly carry jointly a following over the years. Did that reviewer no longer have any theory what "cult" meant? possibly he meant "fad" and used the incorrect be conscious. both way Transformers kick a*s.

Movie critics usually look for plot, character development, and how the movie relates to society, culture and film history.
