My view on Affirmcative action as it is now is that it is not discriminatory to whites. Affirmative action just ensures that all people of every complexion and gender are given an equal chance in the working world. If Affirmative action were the other way around I would probably have a different view on it. Please don't attack me with your insults, just answer the question with your opinion.

white women should be the champions of affirmative action! they've seen the greatest benefit from the policy.
a white woman is considered an affirmative action hire.

affirmative action simply means that white males do not get to retain a permanant lock on all the jobs, all the slots, and all the contracts. this country is 68% white. it is moral, appropriate, and balanced that other citizens get a shot at a job, an education, or a contract.

Yep, affirmative action is immoral and racist no matter who it's targeted at. More women are going to college than men, yet when a woman is hired someone can yell affirmative action, and the doubt is placed did they hire you because you are the best for the job or because you are minority. I think it would be an interesting study to have applicants put only their first initial and their last names on the applications and see who gets called on qualifications alone.
Who really wants an incompetent person on the job.

Affirmative action is a form of institutionalized racism. The government does not have a clue.

An Indian, African, Jamaican, Haitian coming off a plane into the U.S. is a minority eligible for affirmative action.

Sorry, if you are an Asian minority, you don't count because you are too smart and can fend for yourselves. Because you study and work hard, you don't need that "extra help," we need to give it to others who are non-white.

Isn't that nice?

I believe in the 60's and 70's the program was necessary. I think it is less valid now and that's a good thing!!It has done it's job and needs to be rethought for the future< based on progress made against racism in this country.

Sorry, I like Bill Cosby and many others, consider Affirmative Action nothing more than another form of slavery. It wouldn't matter who it addressess. Dependence begets servitude.

discrimination is discrimination. It hardly matters what side you are on. If you tell somebody they have to hire or not hire based on the color of their skin or where they were born is not right. I know because I,m Canadian, if I was a french speaking native women I could have any government job that I wanted. what can you bring to the table, that's all that should matter.

You're a fool...just my opinion. Why are you asking questions like this when you feel it ok to make comments on other's questions about NOT asking questions like this. Idiot.
