While I didn't know I was pregnant until I had really bad cramps, huge blood clots and very heavy bleeding. All my periods were regular and the test I took came out to be either inconclusive or negative. So I don't want to make the same mistake again if that was the cause.

I would have to say no. And those women who tell you that "you shouldn't be a mother if you are smoking weed", can kiss my ***. They obviously have done no research. I was very sick through both of my pregnancies and rather than take drugs that have been artificially manufactured (with who knows what types of ingredients), and drugs that have ingrediants that I have never heard of, I smoked weed. My doctor couldn't exactly tell me to smoke weed, but he did tell me it won't hurt the baby. Marijuana goes into your blood stream, they only warn against it because when you take a hit, you are holding off oxygen to the baby. But I can tell you, I smoked pot through both my pregnancies because of medical issues I had and because of morning/noon/night sickness and I have two VERY HEALTHY beautiful boys. Ages 4 and 2. They have had no adverse reactions to me smoking pot. And I smoked daily. Not all day long, mostly at night or when I was feeling sick.
My first boy was 2 years old before he ever got his first cold or sickness. Both my boys are in the 95th percentile as far as height and weight goes, they are both very healthy, and they hardly get sick. My 4 year old can start Kindergarten this year because he is so advanced already.
Take it easy and don't listen to the women who tell you that you are a bad person because you do. They have no idea what they are talking about. Anyone who says marijuana is bad is obviously not very educated on the subject. They should do more research. The drug companies are the ones who talk bad about it because they would rather you spend your money on their artificially produced drugs rather than use somehthing that is natural and something that comes from the earth and something that can be reproduced with little cost to us as taxpayers. Imagine how much money these pharmacuetical companies would lose if more people turned to natural remedies for their ailments? DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE!!!!!

Smoking marijuana during pregnancy may affect your baby's growth and nervous system. Studies have shown that children who were exposed to marijuana during pregnancy sometimes have problems focusing their attention and difficulty in problem-solving. Children of heavy pot users may have disturbances in their short-term memory, concentration, and judgment. (There's no evidence so far, however, that marijuana use during pregnancy causes attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).

What's more, there's no way to know if the pot you're smoking has been laced with other drugs (such as PCP) or contaminated with pesticides, which puts your baby at even higher risk. And using marijuana increases the risk that your baby will have birth defects if you're also drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes.

Pretty much everyone has already answered this question, but I think it's really stupid for you to ask this anyway. What do you think? Must be a teenage pregnancy, huh? Grow up. Of course doing drugs is going to mess up your child somehow. Do what you want, though, it's not my kid I'm going to have to spend a lot of medical bills on because it's mama was a pothead while carrying such a small creature.

Most likely not....you would be surprised about how many perfect babies are born to pot smoking moms. There is actually not one documented piece of evidence that supports the fact that a fetus is harmed during pregnancy if the mother smokes pot..... so far so good.

Don't be stupid... I smoke daily, but I'll definitely quit that **** when I get pregnant. If cigarettes can be hazardous during pregnancy, obviously marijuana can. Great stuff... but not for a developing fetus.

It sure increases the risk of a miscarriage tremendously.

Anyhow, i think you should not be smoking marijuana even when you are not pregnant.

It's highly unlikely but possible. To the person below me. They have proved that smoking pot can have the same affects as cigarettes, so yes they have proved there is potential to harm the baby, but not anymore so than cigarette smokers.

Don't know that it will do that exactly, but it's incredibly selfish and the baby will suffer one way or another. My mother did when she was pregnant with me and I'm fine, but I'll never know what I could have been either.

Why would you even ask this question? Are you *trying* to cause one? Or did you have one and you're wondering if this is why? Smoking ANYTHING during pregnancy is idiotic.

Drinking alcohol and taking drugs can do a lot of harm to the baby.
