does it have a positive meaning or a negative meaning??

actually there's a friend of mine, who did something immoral in the past,but she never regrets it and never realizes that she did something wrong.i try to make her realize that she shudnt behave and think such way....will it be ok if i use this phrase for her that "i m your reality check"??plz help

It has a possibly negative meaning, but it depends on the person's motives and feelings. It generally means they think you are wrong about something, and they think they are going to help correct you.

A reality check is when you look at things from a realistic standpoint. I would want to know your relationship with the person who said this. Is it a possible date? That person might like you! Is it a police officer? Uh oh...

Reality checks can have a negative connotation if you do not have a realistic perspective on a situation. But they can be positive too.

It's time for a reality check means that your living in your own fantasy world and that's not how the real world runs. When someone says that they are your reality check it means that they are trying to get you back into the real world.

reality check is negative meaning and it means that you live in a clouds and that it will be better for you to stop and smell the coffie( you have to see the situation from more then one angle becouse maybe yours angle is not the right) did you get it and sorry for my spelling i dont now english wery well

It means that whatever they are about to tell you is about to "bring you to your senses", and change your mind about some stupid notion that they deem that you have.
It DOES have a rather demeaning connotation.
