yes, i'm a yankee fan and I live in NYC. my problem is that they are not producing the way they used to. I think this is because they (managers, GM's, etc.) stay chasing the "big players" out there instead of investing money on rookies and making them better. So far, all the money they've spent on big players (randy johnson, a-rod) has been wasted while rookies (melky caberera) are blowing up. what do ya think, God bless ya.

The Yankees are cursed. With a payroll 2 or 3 times larger than most other teams, the Yankees cannot attract the players they need, just the players who need them.

They need pitching, so they just threw a ton of money at Sidney Ponson. He sucks, they're learn quickly enough. Steinbrenner's neck vein will pulse a little bit, then they'll throw a ton of money at the next pitcher they sign.

Alright .. they are not producing because two big blows in the line up with the injurys of Sheffiled and Matsui .. and if they want ot catch-up and win the division (they have no chance at wild card , that will either be tigers or white sox) .they will have to go out and make a big trade for a bat , Abreu, or Soriano ..
i do think they will get that big bat before the deadline , but unfortuanatley, for yanks fans, i do not think that will be enough , they're pitching isnt going to hold up .. i think they will have a loud off season when they make some big trades and reconstruct their whole team while making the big aqusition of signing Zito .. this year just wont be the year for them .. but i do believe next year they will be explosive

George Stienbrenner has to stop overpaying his athletes and walk around the training camp with a bat. If he sees that they are not up to par, he should take the bat to their heads.

I think the players are not there for the sport, but for the endorsments. I understand the longevity of a player is short and you need money when you retire, but they should become actors instead of players.

But I can't blame the players entirely. The Baseball Commision cares more about the endorsments for their players than actually giving a sh*t about them. You can play and make money, but they don't create an environment of sportsmanship FIRST that goes along with the one of many rewards in being a great player.

An ownership change would work. Who wants to play for George?
