What i mean is not alot of Rock and Roll Bands are playing with their soul. They are to technical and end up playing a cheesy song. And the ones that do have soul sound awefull(like emo music.) Classicly trained guitar players are few and far between theese days. Especially Heavy Metal. Its loosing its Umph! There are few Chuck Berries, Randy Rhodes, or Eddie Van Halens left in the world. Im not speaking out of my *** either ive been playing guitar for quite some time now. We need to get the heart back in Rock. Even the evil old school Metal had some meaning. Because all in all it really comes down to the song! Not how fast you can pick, drum, or base slap. Thank You for Reading i hope this affected a few of you in some way towards the good of music.

I completely agree with you. But the truth is that rock has died. Today's kids call anything rock anyways. But rock really isn't "in" nowadays, so people are less inspired to become genuine rock stars. As for the Eddie Van Halen's and Jimi Hendrix's of today, there aren't any and it doesn't seem like that's gonna change anytime soon. But at least real rock will continue to live in our hearts and Cd collections.

I couldn't agree with you more! Rock music started in the late 50s, evolved in the 60s, and hit its creative peak in the 70s. There was still plenty of good stuff in the early days of MTV, in the 80s, but I think the downward spiral had begun. Once videos took over, it was all about IMAGE, not the MUSIC itself! That's been the trend ever since, unfortunately. They all got a "gimmick" to promote, to cover up the fact that today's artists are sorely lacking in TALENT.

Today's prevailing hip-hop "culture" has also tainted and corrupted the rock world. It's almost as if music fans have completely forgotton what real, quality music is supposed to sound like! The music scene has become far too jaded. That's why all the bands/artists that are today considered to be "classic rock" are still so popular with so many of us - because we have nothing new that falls into that league. The "best" of so-called "rock music" today is little more than regurgitated re-hash.

But it STILL beats the hell out of RAP, which is the most obnoxious, offensive garbage EVER!!!!! I wish it would just GO AWAY - all of it - for good. The damage is already done, though. We'd have to "de-program" an entire generation that seems to be totally brainwashed by this sh*t!!! When I was growing up, the "hood" was a place to AVOID! Nowdays, all these clueless kids keep jumping on that bandwagon to nowhere, and it just keeps getting worse. Music culture has an enormous impact on society. Rap isn't even worthy of being CLASSIFIED as "music"! There's NO melody/tune, just a monotonous, repetitious, (fake) drum beat; there's no SINGING; just angry foul-mouthed words bombarding us with nonsense and sheer filth. For the life of me, I cannot understand WHAT it is that so many clueless people find so appealing about it!!!!!!

..its a new age and a new era...rock is dead and the message in music has changed its focus but its still there and just as powerful..if you try to hold onto the old your missing the good thats in the new...one thing is for certain, things will never be the same as they were before..
