The Bible has some nice stories. Some books might have been written as fictitious histories to make people & events seem more impressive than they actually were, just like other histories that were written at that time. Others were probably conceived & written under the influence of some narcotic or neurological condition.

The Bible's a book. Some of it's true, some of it's not. All of it's interesting, if only because of the staggering effect this hodge-podge of a document has had on two thousand years of Western history –Â and the effect it continues to have, even on people who haven't read it.

People believe in the bible because they never really read it.
It demands bigotry, encourages slavery and rewards murder ...
as for Rape, that is never much of a concern, the only Rape law is
If a girl is RAPED but fails to yell loud enough to gain help.. she is to be stoned (seems god never realized that you can GAG a girl)

The bible should not be taken literally. People who do are either ignorant or naive. If there really were an anti-Christ, it would be Pres. Bush.
