Don't you think I was exaggerating a little when I said a million years ago? I know he wasn't around then. I'm not stupid.

there really was a Santa as we know him today. His real name slips my memory at the moment, but he was an heir to alot of money and had no need to buy anything else for himself, so he put that money to good use. Every year at Christmas time he would buy all the kids gifts to open on the morning of Christmas. And when he died, no one else was there to take his place so the adults that believed that santa was a great person and passed on a wonderful trait picked it up and passed it on in their family and households.
Adults know the real story, and kids were raised on a lie.. But to continue the tale .... thats how it starts. Santa Clause will forever live on in the lives of many..

Santa wasn't around a million years ago. St.Nicholas (believed to be Santa) was a Bishop in the 600s. Not even CLOSE to a million years ago. He was kind to children and those less fortunate (like beggars and prostitutes). He did no resemble the Santa we know today. The Santa we know today comes from the 1800s and from the drawings of Thomas Nast. Also, from the poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas" and from the stories of Charles Dickens.
