Why do people think you're weird if you're too HONEST?

Most people are not honest. People tend to judge others base on their own characteristics. If you lie too often or being too honest, it is not normal to their standard. People falls in between the two extremes. Any one side would make you look weird because you are not part of the majority.

Well i would'nt give any thought to those who think that because i am proof that honesty pays off,i had a big cannobis addiction and i eventually went to the doctors to see if there was anything that they could do to help me out and the doctor found out that i was driving and told me to ring the DVLA and tell them that i am taking drugs,eventually i rang them and told them,and when they sent me the form that asked what drugs i had been taking in the past year i was scrupily honest(i wrote down every drug and when i took them),later i received a letter from the DVLA saying that their medical examiners said i am unfit to drive(or something like that...which i'm not...i'm perfectly capable)and they asked for me to hand in my driving license,i was totally gutted thinking i would'nt be able to drive for a long time,and just recently out of the blue they have sent me a letter saying that i may be able to retain my current license,so you see you are rewarded with your honesty...honesty pays off!

Because people don't like to be confronted..... I mean face it .. why do you think we have the saying the truth hurts? Well it does. And who likes to hurt. Nobody!
People would rather live in their own little delusional world and be happy.Apparently ignorance IS bliss!

It only matters what you think of yourself. You're not weird for being honest. Some people can't take the truth about themselves, so they lash out in anger.

I don't think there is such a thing as being too honest, that's a very good quality in a person. One that will certainly get you far in life. Keep it up.Remember honesty is the best policy.

Well i gues its because we live in a rather cruel world where everyone wants to make the mark by hook or crook, so when your are honest about your endeavoure they tend to wonder and since your behaviour is different you will definatelt be regarded as WEIRD

honesty makes people uncomfortable ie people go into debt to have all the bling to look like thier rollin, but the truth is ,is that they are in debt and on verge of loosing it all. also being honest is being confident and there are alot of people out there that either were abused or are just ignorant and and very insecure so honesty is very hard for them.

because you see things differently than they do. sometimes people dont want to know that you are going to the "Pee" in the bathroom. Like walking around saying " I have Diarhea" really nobody wants to know... I understand these are extremes but they are easily recognized as what is considered weird.

Sometimes beeing to Honest will hurt other peoples feeling. You may have to temper your honesty sometimes,for example you want to say: man, you are fat, instead you can say: have you gained weight since last I saw you? But never lie that will always be bad.
