Don't know Dio. Is he/they an Irish phenomenon? Should I have a listen? Does Holy Diver stem from when he did a triple axel into the sea and it was so good everyone said "God!" and how did he see a Rainbow in the Dark? He must be amazing!! (Or eat a lot of carrots)

Of course not!

My favorite Dio song is "Last In Line."

Other good ones include:

"Sunset Superman"
"Lock Up The Wolves"
"Lady Evil"
"Sign Of The Southern Cross"
"Zero The Hero"
"Neon Knights"
"Wishing Well"
"Heaven & Hell"
"Shame On The Night"
"All The Fools Sailed Away"

And so forth. Just about every song he did with Black Sabbath is pretty cool.

I'm guessing you get that just from what you've heard on the radio. Look deeper into the DIO catalog , many great songs.
