I liked Bruxelles but it's a bit too big and it's changed a lot since I lived there. I lived on a boat in Marsailles for a couple of years and that was managable but Apartments are very pricy there.
I think if I was to move back to Europe it would be Southern Spain because it's warmer there in the Winters... the 40th Parallel, which runs through Bolder, Colorado, is just to the north of Sevilla, Spain, which means most of Europe is at a higher elevation than Colorado and the weathers are accordingly cold.

Reykjavík (Iceland). It is a safe place to live, the crime rate is very low. There's enough jobs of all kinds and you'll find everything you need in the city without having to go far. It's not too crowded. It is much less polluted than most other cities in Europe.
It's a good place to live for all kinds of people. If you have a family you can let your kids play safely outside or do some family activities together in a nice family environment. If you're into partying, Reykjavík has a great night life. Reykjavík has also got great, warm swimming pools, with small hot pools around for people to sit and relax in, open all year and perfect for hardworking people to relax a little before or after work. If you love nature and travelling it will not take you more than half an hour to get from any place in the city out to the beautiful nature and quietness Iceland has to offer and no matter how much you travel around the country, you never get bored.
To me Reykjavík is the best city in Europe to live in.

Florence, Italy. The city is attractive, with monuments and cathedrals that you can walk right up to. The Piazza della signoria is full of these amazing statues. There is the Uffizi museum. The Italian paople are gracious and the climate clement. Rome is close by. It was said that Italy is the garden of Europe, Tuscany the garden of Italy and Florence the garden of Tuscany. see it; you will not be disappointed.

Paris, France. At night, the sight is breathtaking. In addition, it is the friendliest country in Europe I've been to. The weather is mediterranean, so it's not humid and unbearable.
