Hello,

People it kinda saddens me when i see countless people follow like lambs to the slaughter, trying to be part of the "MAINSTREAM" crowd why is this, can't they just be unique and special like they were intended and be their own person?

Cheers!!
Any opinions appreciated!!

The reason people do it, is because they are uncoftable with who they are. it saddens me too I have a friend who used to be a chav, and sure i used to rip it out of him (im a grunger) but i had respect for him because of who he was, however he changed who he was for a girl and he became mor grunger, but i lost the respect, i really dont talk to him any more, we driffted apart, and it saddens me. people should be who they are and not give a SH*T what people think.

I get ripped on because of how i dress and how my hair looks, but i like it and thats all that matters.

You have to remember it is this "following the crowd" that brought about a lot of the civilizing process that we today have to thank for many of the things we hold dear. Being part of something greater is also comforting to us; but it is this same tendency to band together which is a great source of our troubles. Learning when to follow and when to stand alone is the trick. Taking time to consider what you are about to do is one way of breaking this habit of following the crowd. Too often, I'm afraid, we don't look before leaping and so we do foolish things, but we keep the comfort derived from thinking that we are a part of something greater than us. This is the reason we "follow the crowd".

most people were grown up to be what their family thinks is "normal". when they go to school, there are always those "populars" and "nerds" and stuff. but who gave anyone the right to determine who's who?

people are afraid to stand out because they're afraid of what others will think of them. but if they became they're own person and not some mindless zombie then they'd realize that if anyone says anything against them then they should just say "screw it" and move on because if you get upset you're giving them EXACTLY what they want. i say make your friends and make your enemies and stay with the ones that will accept you. otherwise you're better off alone.

I never follow the crowd. they laugh at me because I'm different, but I laugh at them because they're all the same.the world would be a very boring place indeed if everyone was just like everyone else, and I hate all the 'mainstream' ideas and beliefs. oh and your songs are great, keep up the good work!!!

Every one feels the need to fit in,so that we don't get mocked.
I on the other hand do not care what others think,I believe that we are all unique in our own ways and should be respected for being ourselves, and vice verse.

Heya, well I think we follow the crowd because of our own insecurities...because we want to fit in with society and feel part of the majority. It's to do with psychology!! ;)

if everyone tries to be different, again it will be mainstream, and the catch phrase will be "why is everybody not following the crowd?".

if you are happy doing one or the other, enjoy!

too often it is because too many are just too lazy to
think things out for themselves so they follow someone
else. of course there are plenty out there who are
just looking to get a crowd of lambs to promote their
agenda.
