Funny story...A friend went to the Museum of Natural History a few years ago with her family. There where pictures of nude men and women everywhere. Anyway, her baby got hungry and she sat down in a fairly secluded area to nurse him. Within a few minutes a security guard came and asked her to stop because it was making the other guest uncomfortable. She started laughing hysterically because she was sitting right under a portrait of a nude woman, Anyway, they ended up being asked to leave, because she wouldn't stop feeding her baby. TRUE STORY, I kid you not.

is it really illegal ?

i think there are so many topless girls on websites arouund the world .. so no need to worry about that ... there are on webcams ...and chatrooms ..

so maybe online topless is more legal ... cause there are more audience and its really international access ... i even see 13 years old girls .... not just topless ... so there is no need to worry .. people around the world are very much happy already of what is currently offered ...

and some countries have their own versions of websites too ...maybe the roads , streets , home and parks are the only safe place to put your eyes for 2 hours then back to websites again ....

i hope we are all contented of what are the current offerings by now ..... lets not hope that the last place .. will also be ruined ... you can do it on beachh ... an pools but hope that you give chance to streets and homes ... park ...

Stuart's right; there is NO Federal law forbidding this act. On the other hand, State and Local Governments normally frown on such a thing. Feminists have, on certain occasions, gotten away with going topless while they were exercising their Constitutional right to peacefully assemble to protest their government for redress of grievances or what have you. But this has been done under extreme scrutiny by state and local prosecutors and, of course, the ever watchful eye's of the Thin Blue Line.

Why can't women go topless, you ask? I don't know, but it's a travesty. The world would be a better place of women aged 18-40 all just went topless.

You have helped 28 people score 2 points. It is not illegal for chicks to go topless. But we, men should probably walk and dance around naked to balance the equation. If you have swinging udders (as someone mentioned) there should be swinging ping pongs too.

It's a religious hang-up. Go to Europe, most countries there celebrate the human body and realize it's not sinful. It's the same with alcohol. I have visited many foreign countries and most have vending machines on the street that dispense alcohol yet the younger people make no big deal of it. Most health clubs are co-ed including saunas. Both men & women are nude yet it's no big deal. Cultural yet religious at it's roots.

As frivolous as this question is, I do find it odd that women being topless in public is illegal when it is perfectly legal, in the state of Washington, to have sexual relations with an animal of equal or greater size than yourself. GO FIGURE!

It's not.

Don't know where you got that information, but it's incorrect.

There are some towns and cities that have ordinances against being topless, but it's not illegal in the US.

Because some people are prude and stupid (they're the ones that make the laws.) It's too damn hot in the summertime and its discrimination why I can't take off my shirt. then again, most women you probably wouldn't want to see naked, you know? like some fat girl with her udders swinging in the breeze. That may be why it is illegal.

Much of American culture goes back to the religious fanaticism of the Puritans, who settled in New England in the 1600's. Their harsh views on sex and morality can still be felt in the laws of today.
