We missed a real no-brainer regarding getting your music and lyrics copyrighted. My friend, who has had a book published, tells me it is the responsibility of a reputable publisher to get that done for you to protect the company publishing your stuff and yourself, as well. It makes sense. So, if you publish, like tunes on a CD down the road, here, it just makes sense. But when I wrote that we missed a real no-brainer, what I meant was this: here I am, scratching my head, trying to find the answer to your question about how to do this stuff, when you could simply post it as a question right here on Yahoo! Questions. I mean, duh. I am surprised I didn't think of that one first. So, if you would be willing to think through exactly what you need to know, jot it down on some scrap paper, or however you want to do it, and then transfer your question to Yahoo! Questions, and you might even ask someone who is in the publishing business to please answer your question, as it is fairly important for you to get a truthful and dependable answer. This is such an important step for you. You can question the value of your output all you like, but I keep telling you you definitely have what it takes. You have creativity, right attitude, quantity, intensity and originality, plus you are not old. You also probably have your material organized already in some personal way at the house. So, give all this some thought and carry on. I am sending this to you with good, positive energy, and also the hope that your uncle is continuing to mend nicely. You are a very important musician, and I wish you success in everything you attempt to do. From Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A.

what does it mean to be a punk? well i'll tell ya this it's not what kind of clothes one wears or how they do their hair or none of that label bullsh*t, it's all about your ideals, what you stand for, and if you have the balls to die for it, now that's punk, punk is not just a music genre, it's not just a lifestyle either, it's a state of mind. hip-hop is punk too because it's all one in the same, fighting back against the corrupt and unfair system that is in place, fighting for the rights of the people and justice. Not just our government is f*cked but it's been like that since the beggining of time all over the world, it's us the punks as we are commonly called to bring like to the truth and to help bring about change and all that good stuff. But if you want real punk rock than pick up a black flag cd sometime.

Hello,

OK so we all have different feelings about it so we need some help here. How about this question:

Hello,

I consider myself a punk, and here's why
reason X
reason Y
reason Z

Is this what you understand by the word?
Is this your approach to life?
If not, why not?

Cheers!!

Cos for a certain generation on this side of the pond, "Punk" means spitting on people from stage and dressing rather differently to your avatar. I don't think that's what you mean, but I'm not sure what you do mean.

Cheers!!

There are two different types of punks in America, the street punk who will do anything illegal, a sort of male prostitute as long as he doesn't have to meet a regular schedule. Then there is the prison punk who is the object of the reject lifers pursuits. I think its very sad to make idiots figure out what to do with their own time. If they wern't idiots they would know what to do, which would be to make life happen rather than wait for opportunities to steal or kill. Oh well, as long as the idiots distrust the brainy people we are stuck with this sad arrangement. So being a punk is helping this BS to continue. Got it?

Idk. It used to be what old people called teenagers. Then it was a type of music like The Clash, old school Green Day, and even the Kinks. Now I don't know what it means. There is too many types of music now like emo and what not. So I would guess that your into old school punk music so thats cool.

If you take out all the "anarchy", spiked hair, spiked clothes, ain't-got-nothing-but-attitude bullshit, punk is about being different. Punk is about not conforming to whatever standards society has put up for you and instead standing up for whatever you find to be true.

it is a label...just like being a skinhead, emo etc.
punk is music....just music. its not the clothes you wear or what color you dye your mohawk or how many beers you can drink in a minute. i went through many years of being "punk", = ) then one day everyone grows up and realizes that you can still hold on to your punk rock ideals and ethics and have a carreer/ family/life etc. but thats just my opinion = )

punk to most people is to be difficult and lazy in a otherwise simple surrounding or living situation.
