Yurt is a Mongolian circular tent that look like a cone. It is the hime of nomadic Mongolian herdsmen, and is constructed of felt. and poles.

Mongolian nomads home. It looks like a tent, but much stronger and bigger. Sort of like a teepee w/ a round top. Very cool.
They are catching on here as well (if you have some land and can get around zoning laws).

It is a style of home used primarily by people living in eastern Asia and Scandinavia. They are round in shape, quick to put up and usually covered with hides. The design is used all over the world, even here in the U.S. but normally the hide covering is replaced by something synthetic.

It's a mud/straw/you name it, it's in one, cylindrical hut in which Mongolians live. Often with their animals. It has a "door" which is essentially a leather flap, with a hole in the top for the smoke from the fire to go. It's kind of like a native American tent.
