Ok. This is about the use of the word "sweet." I honestly think that me and my friends thought of it, and I need some honest feedback. I am all for being proven wrong, so hear me out, and then let me know honestly what you think. This would probably be around 1996, but me friends used to play this really old crappy game where you actually make a salad!(how retartded!). and one of the really obnoxious sayings in that game was "you're making a SWEET salad!"(this was if you were adding fruits, etc)..when it would say sweet, it would be really high pitched, and we hated it, so we started saying everything was "sweet." this was back in 1996. we basically loved being retarted, we didn't care what people thought of us, and honestly, we had so many people make fun of us. i used to say it so much, that i remember this one girl would make fun of me all the time. And now, its like a common saying. I had never heard of it being said before then, and im really curious what people think.

I honestly don't think it really matters who coined this new term and made it into a "cool" thing to say. This word will probably be used throughout this generation and the next generation of kids will probably think it's an old word...kind of what we think of "groovy". It may one day get into the dictionary, it may not. Does it really matter though? It's used so much now, it's not like you can copyright it and make money off it. Really, just let it go.

People were saying "sweet" well before 1996 kid. Enjoy your salad tossing game.

Pretty sure that you are not the ones who started that.

I think a lot of people said it, but it was probably spread the most on South Park- those kids said it all the time.

No you didn't start the word. It was used by my parent's generation in the sixties. My dad told me that every guy who used the word sweet was known to be gay.

I got news for you kiddies. We were all saying it back in 1966 and none of us were gay. In fact gay, back then, meant happy.
