Go with a meaning that represents you, and is good for the car. Also, anything with special meaning is a plus. On my plates, I have "protected." I chose that because I had really bad car accident, and my new car represents that I was truly protected and blessed to still be here.
Nicknames that you have, what you want to do with life, the type of car you have, any relationships that you have are all good types of motivation when trying to create your personalize plates. And think of alternate ways of spelling what you want in case your original spelling has been used.

I like the anonymity of the generic license plates. Personalized plates attract too much attention.
