I keep a spray bottle filled with water or water & white vinegar & spray the cat whenver I can catch him around. You could also try the garden hose. Spray the soil under your deck with white vinegar. Vinegar is a natural deoderizer, but will also kill the grass, weeds or flowers that's under there too so be careful with it.

I was told at the local nursary to use Moth Balls. Throw about 1 package of Moth Balls under the deck. Cats cant stand the smell. Put most of them around the edge of the deck. If they smell them they wont go under the deck. By the way they are harmless to the cats but they hate the smell. Dont use the crystle moth stuff it melts when it rains and you'll have to keep putting more down. Good Luck!

I used to have the same problem with my neighbor until I started spraying ammonia around. It kills the cat's markings and eventually drives them away. I would also hit them with a little shot too. It also works with keeping racoons and possum out of trash cans as well. I'd use the local laws as a last resort because the animals likely would be destroyed. Good luck.

There is a product on the market called Critter Ridder. Just sprinkle the granules around the porch and it's supposed to keep dogs, cats, bunnies, etc. away from an area. I got some at Menards, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Good luck!

What I heard:(I using that also it works)
You put some old pan or other recipient with water in near the place they like and you know cats don't like to drink water where they piss or havig others necessity..... maybe later on you will have them asking for a water but no heavy smells
So place the water everywhere you want
Good luck and don't chase the cat

We have the same prob with the neighbors cats. They also use our flower box as a litter box as well. I have tried vinegar, moth balls and pepper. Pepper works the best out of the 3 but I have to keep putting it out. It came down to my hubby and I calling Animal control. Sad to say but we've tried talking to the neighbors but to no response. that's all I can suggest.
Good luck.
Just for the record, I love cats, and have one of my own. But when she is out side she is tied up. because I love her.

As politely as possible tell your neighbor your problem. Inform them that you will have the cats trapped if they can not keep them off your property.
If you still have the problem after informing your neighbors, contact your local animal control people & have them trapped.
Sounds mean but it is less mean then letting your cat run wild through the neighborhood. Cats kept confined on the owners property tend to leed much healthier and longer lives.

Cats like soft dry soil-- they don't care where it is. Try a layer of rocks or gravel-- however, you'll need to remove the top layer of soil-- every time it gets wet it'll smell again.
I also have cats-- indoor ones.
good luck
