I guess the first question is; are the parts gaped and tightened to manufacturer specs?

If you have high miles, the cam chain may be worn beyond the stock adjuster's ability to control noise. Check Honda for what's considered high miles on a cam chain for your CBR600.

There are no mods to stop it that i know of other than a service to the cam chain tensioners. I've got 29000 miles on my CBR600rr & it's rattled from day one & it's got a full service history. There's probably nothing wrong with it unless its running bad.

NO!!!!! the cam chain, cam chain tensioner, are probably worn and must be replaced, failure to do so will possibly cause serious damage to the engine.it is cheaper to pay to have it repaired now,as compared to later!

Are you sure it's the camchain?

Hondas often rattle at tickover (idle), and it's usually the clutch basket.

If the sound reduces when you pull in the clutch lever or raise the engine revs, that's where the sound is coming from (and "they all do that, sir!"). If so, it's normal.

Check your sprocket and see if the chain needs tightening. This could be dangerous, as if the chain is loose it may "snatch" when you change gear. Check bfore u use the bike again (Nice bike; dont drop it!"
