Clean with Murphys Oil Soap and get some lemon oil or teak oil and oil these cabinets down really well......this will rejuvenate the grain in the wood......do this at least once a month and your cabinets will be much more appealing and clean. Use a terry cloth to apply the oil..

Liquid gold is very good for cleaning as well as rejuvination. Also try Old English. I have used both and am very pleased. Before using just try on an area first and see what how it does. Sometimes older cabinets need a double dose, as they draw in all the oils from the cleaners.

Cleaners like pledge leave a build up of wax on cabinets.

Good luck

Clean well with Murphys oil soap and dry, apply lemon oil or orange glo for wood to restore the shine, clean cabinets at least once a month and apply either the orange glo or lemon oil.

After cleaning the grease and smoke off your counters, try one of the Old English oils, or Liquid Gold. Both are great for dry wood!

Try Murphy's Oil Soap. You may need to clean many times to remove all the smoke and film, but murphy's won't damage the wood. After clean, use lemon oil to bring back the shine. You may also need to do this many times.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.
