I asked her once but she was pretty horrified - she says it's putting a hole in your body and that it's tribal...It's not a responsability issue and I'm old enough...What should I do?

well it depends on where on the ear you want it pierced. if you want to pierce it on the lobe, then that should be fine, but anywhere else, might not be so good and that is what your mom is getting to. tell her where you want your ears pierced, then discuss it more with her. if she still thinks that its wrong, well thats up to her. and tell her the fundamentals of piercing ears. You may tell her things like how they pierce the ears and maybe strike up a deal with her if she doesn't like them such as you say Mom, if I dont keep up with my ears or they turn out a disater i will just let my holes close up as time elapses. Good Luck and remember not to act like a brat and scream and kick and cry if she isn't cooperating, just remember we don't all have to look like eachother and maybe you could try something different than earrings like big cool funky jewlery it can really add some pizzaz (if you will) to your style!!! PS. If your mom is a definate no on the piercing of the ears just try magnet or clip on earrings they have some real cute styles of them at Claires and no one will be able to tell that your not wearing earrings!!!!!!!!!!

do no longer bypass to CLAIRS!!! as a count of fact, do no longer bypass everywhere they use weapons. you have a severe possibility of it getting jammed and doing various injury on your ear (happend to me). bypass to a place it somewhat is only piercings, or piercing and tattoos. They spend all day extensive-unfold doing that form of component, and you're way much less probable to get any form of an infection. Ask your mom to bypass to a keep with you and refer to the pros. in case you get her there probability is she will no longer walk out.

I think she's being unreasonable. There are other places one can get pierced besides the ears, or hasn't she heard? Is there any other family members that can reason with her? Your mom being horrified is pretty silly and petty, it's just a minor thing.

I think that when she gets used to the idea, she "might" let you. I let my girls do that, but would have a real problem with the nose, belly, eyebrow and rings and the infections they bring with them.
If not, you can always get yours ears pierced when you turn 18.

i think it depends on how old you are really. but on the other side of the fence. my mom and dad pierced mine before i could walk or talk, and i hate it, i wish they would've never did it. i have holes in my ears i don't like. so i know it's minimal and not like a tattoo...but think about it first and if you know you really really want it....you can regret piercings just as much as tattoos!

God thats harsh...Ive had my ears pierced since i was 3 ! Ive done my others myself but thats not always a safe option, trust me lol ! Id reason with her and tell her hey mom this is really important to me and i dont want to have to do this behind your back, will you please consent to this. And if she cant understand that then shes highly irrational...

It depends on how important it is to you. If there's something you want more, you might want to let this go so you can have a bargaining chip. If you really want it, you'll have to sit down with her and discuss what you have to do to earn it.

i honestly think there`s nothing wrong with getting your ears pierced. my mom got my earlobes pierced WAY before i could talk or walk, and then pierced again later on. earlobes are really nothing, i think it`s just a normal girl thing.
