Masterbate to orgasm.

That will make the cramps MUCH better - if not gone completly.

I'm 31 and have tried a lot of different things over the years...

Ibuprofen (Motrin) works really well. Stay away from caffeine, it only makes the muscles cramp more. The person who suggested masturbation is correct- it releases chemicals (called oxytocin) that will help the cramping to lessen, although it's hard to think about THAT while you're in pain already. Smoking pot helps, although I don't recommend it (I just know that it does from my younger years).

The best help I have found is to stay very hydrated and take lots of calcium and potassium tablets (vitamins) before and during your period. Calcium helps the body regulate muscle spasms, as does potassium.

Exercise also helps, as it releases endorphins which help ease pain. I know the urge to curl up in a ball and cry, but it makes it worse.

I use a combo (vitamins and herbs) I get at the health food store called "Cramp Bark Comfort" and it's by a company called "Planetary Formulas". I've used it since I was nineteen, and it works great, but nothing beats good old Motrin or Pamprin when it comes down to it.

If the pain is still extreme, talk to your gyno. It could be fybroids or another problem causing the pain.

I find that if I eat a lot of refined sugars and fats in the week leading up to my period, I will have awful cramps. When I was in college eating dorm cafeteria food every day, I had such bad cramps I couldn't sleep at night! If I eat lots of fruit and try to stay away from junk foods in the week leading up to my period, I have no cramps at all. I think a lot of women notice that they have fewer cramps if they eat better right before their periods, so definitely try it!

When I do get cramps, physical activity helps a LOT. I go jogging, or do some yoga stretches and postures that work my abdominal muscles, and the pain subsides. I know it feels like you don't want to exercise at all when you have menstrual cramps, but once you get moving you'll be glad you did!

Of course, if all else fails, there's always pain medication and hot water bottles.

I had tried just about everything on the market for my heavy periods and bad cramping. the only thing that has worked for me was natural progesterone cream. after being on the progesterone cream for 3 months, I no longer have cramps and my period isnt as heavy. I have read many times that bad cramping and heavy periods can be a sign of a hormone imbalance. thats what it was in my case.

you can get it in many forms, but I prefer the lotion. you do not need a perscription and it tells you on the bottle what days of the month to take it.

you can find it at health or vitamin stores, or online. you can also purchase it from arbonne.com

good luck, i hope you find something that helps!!!! I feel for you.

You can't make your period go away unless you go through complicated processes, but there are ways to help cramps. If you don't want to take medicine, sleeping more helps alot. Also, stay away from eating cold things like ice cream or even pears and watermelons. Keep warm and keep yourself comfortable. This usually helps cramps alot. Whenever it starts hurting really bad, you should try and take a nap and or at least rest alittle.

First off, if the pain is that bad, it is your body's way of telling you that something is wrong.
Your cramps should not be that painful.
If they are, go in to the OBGYN and get evaluated.
There are medications to go on that will minimize the time to have your period, improve bleeding and pain. For Instance, if they determine Seasonale is right for you, then you could have as little as 4 periods a year.

well obviously you can't make your period go away, but you can help it. make sure that you take a bath at night, it will help with cramps. take advil every like 5 hours and that will helphedaches and cramps. and i know this is like the last thing you want to do, but go out and run, or even just take a walk, it helps! believe me, i had it during track and it sucked, but it also helped it go faster. and i know this is wierd, but make sure you wear tampons, they help better then pads.

Take midol or ibuprofin before your period starts. Also talk to your Gyn there could be something making the cramps so bad. There's probably something the Gyn can give you to help.
