It all started with Sugar Ray Leonard. The superstars always need to have the spotlight on them because they are egomaniancs, and this is an easy way to get exposure. Just keep retiring. Try another sport! If it doesn't work out, come back and sign another shoe deal.

he's good , Astro's are "good" .. what are you talking about ..
with the acquisition of Huff the Astro's will cowboy up and get a hot streak and be a contender again .. of course they might need to make another trade, maybe, .. but if they dont, i think they can be playoff contenders with this team right now...
i mean they are 7 games out of first place in the division ..and the 2 teams leading them (Reds, Cards), i think will slump in the second half .. especially Cinncinati.
And the best threats to win the wild card in the NL.. Giants and Dodgers .. ha .. Astro's will heat up and atleast win the wild card , with Clemens being an important part of it.

He loves playin the game. He wants to play as close to home as possible. He always wanted to be an Astro. And he wants to be close to his 4 boys and wife, along with the rest of the family.
He's still pitching great. Just needs run support. If he had run support early last year, he'd of won 20 games. Since he's been back,(surprises!) he's not getting run support. It'll still work out.

he's not making himself look bad at all. the astros just aren't scoring any runs for him. he is still an effective pitcher, better than roughly 75% of the starters in the majors, and his record would reflect that if only for some more offensive support. do your homework next time, dude.

Because he can still pitch. He is still a very effective starter who can have an impact, if he gets some run support. I agree it would have made more sense to go to a more competitive team, but he still has it.

It's the same for a lot of great ones. It's tough to give it up. It's tough to say to yourself, "I'm mortal, and I'm now closer to death than I am to the dominance I once knew."

He thought Houston had a chance. And he isnt pitching horribly, his team just isnt giving him any support with runs.

He hasn't made enough money yet. Why not let him make another ten million or so?
