We like the Israeli people just like we like the arabs. Saddam never was a threat to world peace. America(BUSHES) gave them weapons to use against Iran and Kuwait so that they can invade the country to sip free oil which is what they are doing right now. The British gave the refugees what would become Israel from land they took from Jordan and I think Lebanon. there were never any Palestinians until after this time. They had to fight for every inch against Arabs that the Jordanians threw out of their country. Why do you need to blame Israel? Isn't this obsession unhealthy?I'll bet you are a religious Christian, am I right?? Hatred comes so easily to you and your kind. Israel was doing all they could to make peace possible and the Hamas decided they didn't want peace. They attacked and then Israel was attacked on another front. Somehow I fail to see the argument that conservatives use most of the time... "that was long ago", "what's that got to do with now", "past is past"... etc etc.. You can't introduce stop signs at arbitrary points in the timeline of events. History is NOT memory-less. It is not like a computer that everytime you reboot it forgets about the past and starts afresh.
Human society and the history of human society is a continuous timeline where every event in the past, no matter how remote, has a bearing on the events today.

For example, if Japan didn't bomb Pearl Harbor, the US wouldn't get involved in the war, wouldn't develop nuclear weapons, and wouldn't be a military superpower. If Hitler didn't kill all those Jews, there wouldn't be the state of Israel today and the middle east wouldn't be in turmoil.

Everytime someone says something against Jewish people, everyone brings in the topic of the holocaust and ****. What if we said, holocaust was the past.. what has that got to do with now? That was then, why do people still use that argument now after nearly 70 years.
And following that argument in the current day and age Israel is a terrorist state that uses military power that it didn't even develop, to smite at impoverished nations around itself.

So no, rukidding, you can't introduce stop signs in history and say its all anew. What started long ago has impact even now and will continue doing so in the future.
