Sperm is replenished *constantly*. A man is always producing new sperm, although it takes up to about 3 months for a single sperm to be produced.

As for how long it takes for a man to produce enough sperm to be highly fertile following ejaculation, it is very variable. A man with a *high* sperm count will have enough sperm to try to conceive once a day. A man with a marginal to average sperm count should only have sex once every other day to have a high enough count to have a high chance of conceiving.

I am sorry but it does NOT take 30 minutes!!!!

While a man can ejaculate again after 30 minutes, there will not be sperm in it for 24 hours. Also, sperm is at it freshiest every 3 days . . . so if you are going to "try" on Friday have him clean the pipes on Wednesday morning.

Also, my Infertilty specialist advised me to have intercourse like this:
Day 1 is 1st day of period.
Have sex:
Day 10 12 14 and 16
OR
Day 11 13 15

Best wishes,
j.

My girlfriend's Air Force Doctor told them to wait 72 hours between "emissions" for best sperm. But the best way to concieve? Decide you don't want any. I had been unable to conceive throughout my first marriageand was 7 years into my second when my husband and I decided we didn't want any. (He had two boys from a previous marriage.) I was 37 and he 35. So we started using condoms until we could afford a vasectomy. During that 6 month period, we had unprotected sex one time and that was when our daughter was conceived. I had also just finished a round of antibiotics for an unrelated illness. Also, check out a book called "The Infertility Solution". Very informative and helpful.

The testacles are the manufacturing machine of sperms. That machine is working all the time. Of course it may take a few minutes for it to produce a sufficient quantity for ejaculation. That is why most young men get an erection a few minutes after ejaculation and they do ejaculate again. But remember if you want to get pregnant you must allow the sperms to mature for at least 2 days in the testacles.

As you have been trying to conceive you must know that you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 2 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

I believe it's 30 minutes. But if you think it's a sperm count problem, he should be tested for that.
