You say you are a beginner. As well as trying to improve your level of play, it is also very important to figure out your level of composure on court. Therefore doubles may be a good idea. If you find a partner who is not overly competetive, it will be a good fun way of improving your game without the pressure that comes with singles play. At least with doubles, if you lose a match, you are not entirely to blame. If you come along well, both in terms of your game and your on-court toughness, you can always switch over to singles at a later date. Hope this helps.

you should play doubles. That is what coaches look for on college teams. Plus it is more fun. you don't have to run as much as singles.

Try Singles first
becoz u'll judge urself where u stand
otherwise in doubles it might be possible that due to partner's mistake u'll suffer

I would also say singles until you have a strong partnership with someone who understnads and is compatible to your technique etc. with the wrong partner you both look like arses

Singles, because you can figure out if you are good enough or not that way.
