I think this is a honest question, but one tht I feel not many people would really ask themselves.
Big Cities has its perils, pitfalls and highs.
Everything you said would just be limited by space and money. If you have a large enough house or an Apartment, then you can have your relatives visiting you often. And you can have certain pets at home.
But then there is a certain maturity that you get when you are on your own in a Big City that you would never get from a Town.
I have lived in Big Cities all my life but I must admit I always love my Town, back at my Parents. It is like a Vacation. Hence I know what you mean.
Noise levels and Been dangerous is all right, but then there is something in a Big City that you simply cannot beat.
Ask anyone who has 'made it' in a City and they would vouch for it.

I understand what you're saying but you can't judge all cities as the same.
There are great little communities and family groups all over the big cities. You may not have been all born into the same family but you take care of each other, help each other and look out for each other.
I live in Seattle and it can be a big, dirty, noisy city but you can choose to live in bad areas or in great areas where you're surrounded by water, mountains, and trees ... the people are as friendly as you want them to be.
I have also lived out in the country where the nearest neighbor was 5miles away and loved that too.
You just have to choose what's best for you and not judge what might be good for someone else.

Yay! A fellow country girl!! Anyway.... I could take about a month in the city & then I'd run screaming out of there! Nobody's ever looked at me like I'm a dumb redneck yet but I'm just kinda waiting for it, although the only real hick/redneck thing about me is I say y'all & wear my cowboy hat almost anywhere! And I know what you mean by the family connection, I wouldn't trade that for the world!

Hi, I like living in a city, there's a lot to see and do and I do not think people who live on farms or in small towns are dumb, I admire farmers a lot, having worked on farms as a kid. Nobody has to be a redneck though, thats a good thing to lift yourself out of.

Everyone has their own preference I think. The city seems more more convenient to others. Everything is a lot more accessable in the city versus small towns with one local convenient store. That's just an example. Some people prefer to be in area with a lot more people and others like to be with not so much, it all depends on your preference, what you're used to and what experience you've had living there.
