It just depends on your taste in movies. You can find American Pie funny. In that case go rent 40 year old Virgin. If you're into silly, everything goes spoof films Airplaine! never fails. The one that started it all and the best. Team America is quite funny, if you like South Park well, there's nothing more to say. If you dont mind gore and zombies I definetly recommend Shaun of the Dead, its pretty funny. Monthy Python and the Holy Grail as well as Life of Brian can be funny also, but they're not for everyone. They're uber silly.

My favorite comedies are Amelie (a romantic film in all sense of the word, about a quirky french dreamer) About a Boy (a funny decent film with that british wit and well rounded characters) and Groundhogs Day with its unique plot.

Finally check out City Lights with charlie chaplin and any Buster Keaton film if you are feeling adventurous and dont mind the Silent Film stigma

The Wedding Crashers was a good couple movie. My hubby and I both laughed alot plus it had that "woman" storyline. It was a good movie!
