14 is no big deal though is it? At 13 you turned into a teenager & the next biggie is 16. At the moment you are in between big Birthdays.
I bet your parents do care & love you loads, they just might think that you don't want to make a big deal out of it.

You do! That's important enough! Don't worry about this, it is the least important thing in life. Life is what you make of it. Be on your own, in a way, but always follow the rules, until you are old enough to make your own. Learn from the errors of others, especially grown ups, because they have the experience and should not be committing too many mistakes.

everyone turns 14 at some point..
wait till you get to 44 and no one seems to care, then you can worry a little.
Its just a birthday. Enjoy the cards and gifts, if you are lucky enough to get some, and get on with it.

My 14th year was the happiest in my life - I fell in love!!!! My mother, by the way, bought me a Barbie doll. I'd been dreaming of owining one since I was 7 - they never got around to it. My mother suddenly decided I was her little girl and hey presto! I got the present of my dreams.
Now I'm a mom it is difficult to recapture the same excitment little kids feel. It's all an anti-climax from now on, I'm afraid. Never mind - Happy Birthday and be glad you're not my age!

Fourteen-year-olds are too big to be cute but not big enough to be taken seriously. In some respects, you are being treated as a bigger person and also still being treated like a small child. It's a tough time. It will get better.
P.S. They may all be ignoring your birthday tomorrow because they are all planning a big suprise party.

Your parents should care. They should buy you a couple gifts, etc. If they don't care, you better sit them down and have a talk with them; something going on that ain't right.
