Great tactics by Israel . Get rid of all terrorist groups which Lebanon was suppose to have done years ago but instead some of them are in the cabinet of the Government in northern Lebanon,which makes it sad for some Lebanese people .Israel will not stop til they finish what they started,you know the story , Iran and Syria better watch their back because Israel has just begun

I think Israel is doing a great job defending themselves. What people don't realize is that the state of Israel is smaller than the state of Maryland. Israel gets the raw deal. They get blamed for everything. And now Syria is getting involved against Israel. I think it's terrible and I have family in Tel Aviv and I used to live in Northern Israel. I just hope it ends soon. But, there will never be peace between the Israelis and the "others." Too bad.

First off, it's not Israel vs Lebanon, it's Israel vs Hezbollah, the fanatic terrorist group whose mission is to destroy Israel. The fact the Lebanon does nothing to eliminate Hezbollah in their own country makes them the same in terms of enemies.

Now, Israel has had plans in place for 5 years, just in case Hezbollah does someting collossally stupid, like take a few Israeli soldiers hostage.

Well, they did, those total idiots, they captured 2 soldiers and refused to release them. And since they refused to return the prisoners, Israel put the plan into action. They've taken out the roads from Beirut to Damascus. They;ve taken out the airport runways and fuel storage (but not the buildings, gotta protect the infrastructure for rebuilding), they're blowing up Hezbollah radio stations, and their leaders' homes and offices, power stations, hundreds of strategic targets. They're not targeting civilians. All they're dropping on civilians are pamphlets warning them to get away from Hezbollah buildings.

Hezbollah is retaliating by lobbing missiles across the border, wherever they land in Israel is ok as long as they explode.

Anybody who is on the side of freedom and democracy applauds Israel and denounces the terrorists who provoked them.

Lebanon captured 3 Israeli soldiers then started launching rockets into Israel. Lebanon is clearly the aggressor in this conflict and Israel is just defending itself.

I think Iran is going to be in this very soon. The latest is that Iranian guard soldiers are actually in Lebanon and shooting the longer range surface to surface missiles.

All this would take to end is to give back Israeli soldiers and stop firing rockets at their towns. It would end immediately, but muslims want death. They start a war then hide behind their women and children so they can put their dead bodies on TV..cowards.

I'm on the fence...

I think Israel was justified to defend itself BUT I also think they are using excessive force which is only going to result in more violence. If they think this is the way to resolve the issue they are wrong. This method is only going to escalate the circumstances more and more and could result in a fullblown holy war with the entire middle east.

I think Israel has every right to defend itself, but I think Palestine would have been a better choice if they were going to attack someone, after all, it's mostly the Palestinians who come into Israel and blow themselves up.
