I've never have experienced such pain in my life. Can anyone please tell me what I can do to make it a little easier to get through this? And how long did it take for you to recover?

Has anyone NOT pulled a bck muscle. Go to the doctor. If it's agonizing - go to the ER. Every situation is different.

i experienced that. Most painful experience.

If you have access to Chinese physician, try accupuncture. It works VERY well for me. Also, you should rest on a firm mattress and minimise prolonged sitting for at least one week.

I tried going to work with the pain and guess what, for two weeks, i cannot stand upright. Until i could not bear it anymore, i went to a hospital. The doc prescribed me bags of medicine, two weeks medical leave and physiotherapy.

With the help of accupuncture, Chinese medicine, physiotherapy and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the two weeks rest, i felt so much better by the end of the medical leave.

(i did not take any pain reliever and muscle relaxant prescribed by the hospital's doc as they make me feel nausea and very tired)

i wish i could copy you what i got from my physiotherapist. My physiotherapist prescribed some exercises to help strengthen my back muscles. Those exercises are useful and can help relieve pain. Still, i thought you might want to check out the below link.

You might want to try exercise 3,4,9. I personally like 3 best as it helps relieve the tightness in the muscles and pain most.

Yes -yes - yes. Two weeks of misery. Used hot towels across the back, then applied myoflex as directed. Use heating pad on/off 20 minutes. If you have an exercise mat, lie on the floor as much as you can. Also went to a chiropractor. Massage felt good but didn't hurry recovery. Usually takes two weeks and there's not much you can do about it to cut it short.

Take hot baths. Afterwards, use ice packs to help alleviate the pain. You can also use motrin or advil for relief. Avoid lifting anything heavy for the next 2 weeks, & daily do GENTLE exercises to help keep muscles loose. If you exerperience sharp pain; STOP! Do not stay still too much, as movement will help your body stay limber. Just remember to keep it gentle, though.
