Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz its been out awhile so should be able to get it in paperback or from library. Age safe

My favorite book is impossible to choose as I have many many books ranging from Mark Twain, Lloyd C Douglas, of course LOTR series and then some. Then there are the new authors like Dean Koontz, Robin Cook, Tom Robbins, Ste[hen King and I could go on so I will now stop.....

The Perfume - Suskind is a good read, anything by Milan Kundera, or Kazinstakas or Nietzsche

Favourite book, too many. I'm listening to Joyce's Ulyssess, that's amazing because it's reflecting the language of my place back to me. Currently living in England, theoretically the Irish and the English speak the same language but when I'm here I deduce, by observing how English people are and how they use their the English language, what people mean when they say Irish people have a sideway approach to things

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is great. In some ways it's your typical YA romance...but it has a twist of its own...Bella, our heroine, is in love with Edward...whom she later finds out is a vampire!

The Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld is a great series. (Twilight is the first in a series as well, by the way). Set in a futuristic society where prettiness is a matter not of lucky genes, but the result of extensive plastic surgery EVERY person receives at age 16...but there is a heavy price to pay for being "pretty" which our heroine, Tally, and her young friends must discover.

Sarah Dessen, Louise Rennison, and Sonya Sones are other YA writers I'd recommend.

It's too hard just to pick one favorite book...
