Why can't I find a free map of the world we live in with in depth features?

try google earth you can zoom in so close in London as to see the cars parked or view the whole world as a globe the pyramids look kinda cool zoomed in too
not a map admittedly more a picture of the whole world

Look for the word MAPAMUNDI in Yahoo! Search, under Images
