Magic is commonly divided into white magic (healing, divination and other benign magic) and black magic (malicious or harmful magic).
From the point of view of adherents of Christianity, the terms "magic" and "wizardry" connote beliefs which are held to be false beliefs or heresy. In this sense, the term 'magic' is typically outdated, although in the direct quotation of religious scripture it may have some limited usage in modern times.
Originally referring to the older Zoroastrian Magi (i.e. sages, priests), the term "magic" became a negative term, and among the followers of the Judaic religion was recorded into Western history with its denigrating meaning. In times of antiquity, practitioners of other religions were accused of practicing magic (though the adherents of Christianity and Islam were never accused of this on any large scale).
Viewed from a non-theistic perspective, many religious rituals and beliefs seem similar to, or identical to, magical thinking.
Related to both magic and prayer is religious supplication. This involves a prayer, or even a sacrifice to a supernatural being or god. This god or being is then asked to intervene on behalf of the person offering the prayer.
The difference, in theory, is that prayer requires the assent of a deity with an independent will, who can deny the request. Magic, by contrast is thought to be effective:
by virtue of the operation itself;
or by the strength of the magician's will;
or because the magician believes he can command the spiritual beings addressed by his spells.
In practice, when prayer doesn't work, it means that the god has chosen not to hear nor grant it; when magic fails, it is because of some defect in the casting of the spell itself. It is no wonder that magic tends to be more formulaic and less extempore than prayer. Ritual is the magician's failsafe, the key to any hope for success, and the explanation for failure.
A possible exception is the practice of word of faith, where it is often held that it is the exercise of faith in itself that brings about a desired result.
Officially, Judaism, Christianity and Islam characterize magic as forbidden witchcraft, and have often prosecuted practitioners of it with varying degrees of severity. The traditional theologies of these religions have held that the apparent effects of magic are either delusional or the result of fallen angels manipulating nature on behalf of the sorcerer, hence witchcraft has often been seen as a type of pact with demonic beings.
Unofficially, Jewish and Christian mystics have practiced varying forms of magic for hundreds of years. Jewish folk stories often feature wonder-working rabbis and sages as protagonists, whose powers more or less resemble magic.

Are you christian or wiccan, if you are christian then leave "magic" alone, it is no compatible with christian belives and it makes your concept of belives murky , you do not mix diferent religius beliefs.
If you are wiccan ,then this is your religius cult, and white as opposite to black magic is your vocation, (I can not coprehend that there would be somone who works dark magic, and is religius, by meaning religius I am saying that religion is a positive thing, an if there is a cult that works black "magic" then call it by some other name , not a religion,
So to recapitulate if you are christian , wrong , if you are wiccan , good.
If you are christian then there is a set of belifs that is the core of it, and it is strongly against any kind of magical practice.
You do not order God, or angels or devils, or some magical creatures, with some magical simbols, and talismans and so on
To God you love and pray, and accept, for angels you ask, and devils you leave them out of your life, and pray for protection.
Religion is a lot about accepting what God gives you in life, diferent tasks that are not easy , and these tasks are gifts, so when you wont to magicly get rid of something, you are droping God 's given gift , a question, in which when you resolve it you will become stronger and wiser. If you drop the chance that God has given you , you stay inert , and you life spiritual life spirals down. Also it very easy for unstable person to begin to try magical acts that are not so white anymore, so you think that there is gray area, but befor you know you are black practicioner, and there is a law
what goes arount comes around, or in a Buffy and whitches series when you do some evil it comes threesome back.
An for the last , there are no games with magic. This is not game.
You will be sory if you continue to think that way.

White magic is considered good magic wheather its against god that's another thing. But most covens or starting witches believe that white magic is good and black magic is bad, although if you have seen The Craft the shop owner says white and black magic is neither good nor bad so you choose which one you want it to be.

Well never thought abt it........but yes, i would definitely use it for good cause.
Afterall who doesnt want to influence events and physical phenomenon through supernatural, mystical, or paranormal means.
Besides, the term White magic relates to magic used only for good purposes as a counter to evil, to restore faith in the powers of nature and universe.

Magic is nothing more than sending out energies in a form of ritualized prayer. You don't know what will happen. So, if you pray within your own religion - you are practicing white magic.

White magic, even if used for good, is from Satan. It is evil. To use sorcery of any kind is to turn against God. In the old testament it is written,: "rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft." Witchcraft, no matter what kind is rebellion against God. If you are using it---Repent and turn to Jesus Christ. Ask him for forgiveness of your sins.
Christian and Jewish Miracles are from the spirit of God..they are not witchcraft.

this is nothing more than sorcery which God condemns and those that practice it were to be put to death. No games here and no difference between black or white magic when it comes to the sorcery stuff. Strictly condemned and strictly bad to even dabble in.

You should only cast a spell if your intentions are totally pure. Your intentions can not be pure because human nature is tainted by sin and desire. Therefore you should not use magic.

"White magic" is called MEDICINE. If there is a God, I don't think he cares too much if you use it or not!
