It sounds as if you are being effective in protecting others during your dream. However, if you feel threatened and unable to control the situation and/or you are swept up in the tornado it may be what we call a serial dream. Serial dreams are not repetitive dreams in the sense of having the same dream over and over. Serial dreams are not continuing dreams in the sense of a second dream picking up the story and continuing an earlier dream. Hall and van der Castle did an extensive study of serial dreams using the sleep lab and REM sampling with patients in psychoanalysis. They identified some typical serial dreams. A dream where one is playing in the surf and gets caught by a wave and is tumbled over and over; or one is skiing and gets caught in an avalanch and is tumbled over and over; or one is running from a storm and is swept up by a tornado and carried off -- these are all called "loss of control" dreams. These kinds of dreams are often reported when life seems overwhelming to an individual. When they don't seem to be able to control their own life. The emotional feeling is expressed in a dream theme representative of a physical event that would have a similar effect in reality but that is simpler to understand. It is interesting that when these people regain control of the situation in their real life, they often report having a "resolution dream." In the resolution dream, they relax in the wave and float to the surface, or they pop out of the tumbling snow and ski to safety, or their house is gently set down on top of a witch. Your dream has a different flavor. You seem to have things under your control but feel others around you are threatened by the event of a tornado. Perhaps you believe that these other people have lost control of their lives and you need to defend them. I would imagine that if they gain control of what you perceive to be their "loss of control" your anxiety for them will resolve and the dreams will stop.

I have tornado dreams as well. My cousin took some psycology classes, which included some sort of dream interpretation stuff. The tornado supposedly represents stress or turmoil. It gets deeper than that, like more than one tornado means something, etc. I don't remember all the particulars. Now when I have the tornado dream, I try to think about what is really bothering me and address it. It usally helps. I hope that helps you!

That's so weird I have had reoccurring dreams since I was little about tornados. I don't know what that means but I've always wondered the same thing. Try reading some dream interpretation books.

To see a tornado in your dream, suggests that you are experiencing some extreme emotional outbursts and temper tantrums. Is there a situation or relationship in your life that may be potentially destructive? To see several tornadoes in your dream, represent people around you who are prone to violent outbursts and shifting mood swings. It may also symbolize a volatile situation or relationship.

Each person defines their own unique enemy, even if the decision is subconscious. In your particular case, your enemy, or obstacle to overcome is the Tornado in your dreams. I would expect these dreams to occur when you are stressed out or trying to overcome a problem in your reality. It is good that in your dreams you face your enemy and protect those near you... I wouldn't worry about small details in your dreams, like who's in them or where it happens, most of the time details like those are selected randomly, and thinking about details like that too much can play tricks with your head ;)

Nowadays psychologist believe that the dreamer is the only one who can interpret the dream. I would say that you have to figure out what that tornado truly represents. What is your life is so powerful it can rip everything apart? Youmand those two women are protecting your children, In reality, what do you need to protect them from?

It's probably just a big fear you have deep down that throughout the normal day you are not often faced with. (How often are you in high winds or near tornados?) So in your dreams it surfaces fairly often

I don't know, but maybe you feel powerless in real life? Like you can't protect your things or yourself? Maybe you should strenghten ties with your family/friends and be a little more bold than you would be otherwise.
