another world?

Plain and simple NO; we would like to believe in faries, santa, easter bunnies, leprachauns, gnomes, elves, etc etc but for those of us who would like these to be true, it is eviction time.

none of those exist, and nothing of our own creature like beings exist either.

we alone are responsible for all damage done to the planet and to the universe.

Let me answer your question with a couple of mathematical numbers. Astronomers have sighted approximately 100 billion galaxies. Each one of these galaxies contains an estimated 100 billion suns. The naysayers will cry, "but there are no planets like earth." They're right! At this time we are unable to detect any planets except those that are huge gas giants. When we have the technical expertise, I have absolutely no doubt we will be able to "see" unfathomable numbers of planets.

The only fear I have with our discovering other life forms in other worlds is our contaminating them with a known or unknown virus. In doing a bit of reading, a person can see how science continually finds life forms on earth. We been taught that life forms that live on earth had to have photosynthesis to survive. However, in the last five years science has found microorganisms in rocks two miles or so beneath terra firma. Also there lives seven miles below the top of the ocean a number of creatures, that by our self made "laws of nature" can't even exist. None of those creatures ever sees sunlight. Do the life forms beyond out planet have to obey our laws? I don't believe it for a second.

There are countless forms of life here on terra firma, waiting to be discovered. And beyond the small rocky ball we call earth, is a storehouse of "things" to be discovered that none of us can count.

Keep asking questions. Never mind the negative replies you might receive. Remember, as the National Geographic Channel states: "Always wonder."

Respectfully,

Uncle Bear * : - ))

There are definitely other worlds out there; there have been better than 150 discovered to date, but ones with life....well that has yet to be determined. I firmly believe there are other intelligent beings out there; it is just that our own world is not ready to join the interstellar community. We have to grow up a bit before we are ready to take that next step. If humanity survives the next 100 years, maybe then we shall have that consideration.

there is and they're watching.waiting and willing us to drop our guard. it may be just for a second but that is all they will need. i haven.t slept properly for the last 40 years. there was 30 of us when we started out but one by one strange events have occurred that has our numbers down to the final three. what will happen when we fall. who will watch the watchers. why don.t people listen when we tell them. but I'll keep watching until these weary eyes close for the last time. then they will know we were right. but by then it will be too late. England will have somehow cajoled their way to win the world cup. and life for our future generation of pure football fans will never be the same.
but I'll keep watching even though I'm feeling tired. SOMEONE HAS TO.

there are roughly 2 trillion stars per person living on earth

however if you look at the earth, the things that make for life are so unusual and so rare that the earth may be the only place with human life or any life at all...

the odds are 0, its like the odds of hitting the moon with an arrow... shoot all you want

I think there is sooo much more out there. And we are barely touching the the tip of these discoveries. In time we will learn more and more and hopefull I will be alive to witness some of these awesome events.

How can you look "out there" and not KNOW there is so much more to this universe than our little space?

Take a minute sometime and check it out. You might realize that we are not alone.

There's plenty out there: planets, stars, comets, asteroids, meteors, globular clusters, planetary nebulae, galaxies (of many different shapes and size), quasars, etc. etc.
