It really depends on the last name too, you want there to be a flow about the name.
If the last name is say Smithers, you probably wouldn't want to pick a middle name that also ends in er, like Alexander.
Or if the last name ends in son like Lawson, you most likely wouldn't want a middle name that ends in the same sound (on, an) like Dylan or Dawson.
So try out the whole name & see how is sounds & how it looks on paper printed out & written in long-hand (cursive). Some names will look funny because of the repition of y, g, p which dangle down or letters like l or t which have height.
