Well If you don't have land then boarding is your best bet. But if you are looking to board your horse be sure its in a well suitable environment. A lot of people say they will take very good care of your horse. But they don't. The best way to prevent situations like this to happen is to always talk to the owners, and find out their back ground. Make sure the place is well kept and is clean. Check out the other horses. If the people are friendly to you then that's also a good sign. Many boarding places have either Self-care, or Full-care. If you prefer to take care of your own horse then choose Self-care. Now having your own land is great. You don't have to worry about driving to a boarding facility. You have your own horses on your own land. People who have there own land/space should consider themselves lucky, and they should be great-full. I hope this answers your question.

In my opinion, it depends. If you find a stable that's great, and the owners/workers are trustworthy, then boarding can be easy and good. However, if you board at a stable that's dirty and doesn't offer you much help, then you would be better off either looking for a new stable or purchasing your own land. It really depends on your situation. I board my horse at a farm about 20 minutes from where I live, and the service there is great - they feed the horses regularly, clean the stalls once per day, and turn the horses out into the pasture for a least a few hours in the warm weather. So, overall in my opinion, I think boarding can be wonderful if you find the right stable!

I only have one horse on my 25 acre property, and I don't take riding lessons so boarding never really crossed my mind. I know that the average horse needs about 2-3 acres (per horse) of good pasture for grazing. Land these days aren't cheap, but I guess boarding isn't always the easy way out. I've heard that boarding can take away from the horse owning experience, as well as reduce the size of your wallet.

Boarding is a very good thing. Of course you need to do your research and visit and so on, but leaving everything up to a good professional is well worth the money.
Think about it, you can't even take a day trip without finding some one to feed your horse. Plus the maintanance of the land/ fencing/ outbuildings... your horse's worming schedule, teath floating, and finding a farrier to come out to do one or a few horses is difficult.
What seems like no big deal at the beginning of such an endeavor can become very cumbersome.

If you do not own land and work a regular job boarding may be the best option for you.
There are many very nice boarding facilities and moany horses get better care there than they woud at home woth the owner.
The people who run them are most of the time kowledgeable and have lots of experience. They horses get looked in on and fed and someone puts their hands on them daily.
Boarding is fine as long as you carefully check out the barn and the people who work with your horse.

WEll depends. Do you have enough time to make sure you can feed on time and someone to take care of your horse while you are on vacation? How often are you home? do you have enough land? if you answer no to any of these then I would recommend boarding. Boarding also makes sure your horse has a companion if you only have 1 horse

if u have ur own land for a horse then u can assure there is nuthing bad happening to ur horse and u can give it better exercise. at boarding facilities u are probably the only one to get ur horse out and if u arent then u cant be sure that ur horse isnt agitated if u have ur own land then u can keep a better eye on ur horse.

i think having ur own land is better but sometimes u have no choice and it can be really expensive. in fact, my grandparents have horses but they have boarders 2 (we have open stalls rite now for boarding....full board) be a boarder is not that bad....as long as u dont ignore ur horse....boarding doesnt mean ur a bad person/horse owner....its perfectly fine

I own land that is right beside my house. It is 4 acres with a shed and no horses. I keep my horse at my neighbors that has no shed. I choose to because they have grass, trees, a running stream and other horses for mine to be with. At my house he would have a shed and a trough...no grass, no buddies.
