Zelda Windwaker HELP!!! The FISH?

How do you talk to the fish? I am in the middle of his "circle". He won't give me my map. Help!!

you've got to tempt him to talk by throwing bait to him. You can buy this from the merchant on the boat.

Which fish? if on any screen you get close and throw bait into water. If You mean Lord Jabu-Jabu then he speaks old hylian and you cannot read it but after beat it you can play again and this time you will understand old hylian.
