The simplest way to make the denominators the same, is to multiply the two denominators by each other (in this case 24 of 5/24 and 30 of 7/30; 24*30 = 720 would be your common denominator). Now, to keep the individual fractions proportionate, you'll have to multiply the numerator also by the other fraction's denominator ( In this case: 5 of 5/24 would be multiplied by 30 to get 150 and similarly 7*24 = 168). Once you've done this, it's simple addition and then reducing to the lowest terms.

150/720 + 168/720

= 318/720 (Factor out 2)

= 159/360 (factor out 3)

= 53/120

Have fun and next time, do it yourself.

Hi, A*!
To solve the desired operations, we can use equivalent fractions with equal denominator:
5/24 = 25/120
7/30 = 28/120
5/24 + 7/30 = 25/120 + 28/120 = (25 + 28)/120 = 53/120.
Finally, you can't reduce it to lowest terms.
Hope this helps you.
Bye!

5/24+7/30 = (5*30 + 7*24)/(30*24)
= (150 + 168) / 720
= 318 / 720 dividing numerator & denominator by 6 :
= 53 / 120
