Say ive got 2mb internet, will a wireles setup be as fast as a hard wired modem is.

My wireless is not as fast as my hard wired modem.

Wired LAN is faster than Wireless. Most probably your LAN speed is 100Mg while your wireless is 11Mbs. Assuming if you have a relatively fast internet service, you will be better off with a wired network to connect to the internet.

It depends, it can be as fast and also it can be slower, it could be slower if you are far away from the wireless source becuase then the signal isn't as strong

Well I got wireless and never noticed any change its brill i'm on a laptop and the freedom to have it any room is great .

it depends on your connection speed, and also on your router. most wireless routers nowadays can match just about every connection speed, unless you have something ridiculous like 8Mbps. check your wireless router's box, and check your notebook's wireless card.

for the most part yes....
sometimes it will disconnect on you though
But the speed is just as fast! :)
