Many girls in the ninth grade have their belly-buttons, noses, and lips pierced. When is a good age to get your belly-button pierced?

I'm a body piercer and I find that most girls in grade 9 don't take care of their piercings and they get infected. They show off their piercings, and play with them by touching them with their hands a lot. This just brings bacteria to the piercings.
Its not about age, its about when your ready and when your responsible. I think this happens around 15 or 16 or 17 for most people.

I say never get your nose or lips pierced. It is not cute and most people look at them and think...gross. Remember,eventually, you will want to go out and get a job and you will have those stupid piercing to deal with. Get your belly button pierced when your young, have a nice stomach and your metabolism is high. In other words, before you get older and chubby. Plus, you can hide the piercing with clothing.

I got mine after 8th grade graduation. My mom made it so I could only get one piercing per year. That way I didn't have too many at once.
