Blood is necessary for both to function, but neither can work without the other, although the heart really only needs the brain stem to keep working, the rest can be dead.

well heart rules. Reason: the heart is made of special type of muscles called myogenic muscles.So the heart doesn't need impulses from brain to keep beating.So infact the heart keep the brain working.

I think that one can not live without the other because they are are so close net together ,thou doctors say your not dead still your brain dies.because they most the time can restart your hart.but they is no way to restart the brain yet.

naa its none.its the soul.with out it both will be useless.anyway its the spinal cord that controls the heart.its an involuntary action and is not controlled by brain.
