I don't know about trucks but I know that drilled rotors aren't for weight reduction. It's for cooling. They dissipate the heat faster so the brakes don't fade under heavy use.

If you are hauling, I wouldn't use drilled rotors. This is only for weight reduction in racing. Factory rotors will give best braking. It's just that they are heavier. In racing applications I use drilled rotors....www.jegs.com

not sure on trucks. I had drilled rotors on my car.... they were awesome I am going to try them on my 06 dodge diesel when it needs a brake job. we will se what happens
