Seems like you bought the energy saving model, which is doing exactly what it should do, then there is no problem.
If not, virus are the most probable cause after checking all your wirings and sockets.

Could be a heat problem. Open your case and make sure all the fans are running. Take some canned air and blow out the vents (especially those at the front) and around/in the heat sink on your CPU. Try running it with the case open, if it continues to run with the case open it is a heat problem. You may want to add another case fan or cleaning may solve the problem.

Mine was doing the same thing, and it was because my mouse had a short in the wire. Start small...any of the wires could have a short, before you take it ti be fixed and get charged a fortune!!

and also, check your power supply..if it's an (UPS) that might be a problem.. check that you PC is ruuning on AC, not DC...(wall plug) if nothing else works..then contact the store you bought it from..

your battery might be going if you have an old computer. if you have stuff on there you want to keep i suggest you back i up NOW.
