In case no one knows, hyperstorm is the son of rachel summers and franklin richards. This means his power is more than both of his parents' powers combined (an unwritten rule at Marvel is that the offspring must always be stronger than the parents). Plus, Hyperstorm's power has been described as Phoenix + Onslaught, and he draws his power directly from the infinite power source called hyperspace, which is superior to the cosmic energies that the phoenix uses.

PS: an answerer above said that the Phoenix is second only to the living tribunal. this is only true in the Marvel-616 universe. Many beings have been shown to transcend or match the Phoenix's powers in other universes, and some even in the 616 universe (like Quentin Quire). It would be truly ignorant to say the Phoenix is all-powerful and omnipotent, and it only shows that you don't read a lot of comics.

Phoenix would easily win, no question...she can destroy the entire universe in the palm of her hands.....Phoenix has often been quoted as second only to the creator in power-wise by The Watchers, and you dont wanna mess with them! Phoenix would eventually win because hyperstorm will wither away while phoenix comes back with full strength...there is no defeating her.....franklin richards does not match phoenix's power...and it doesnt matter the reality or dimension because phoenix draws upon every single dimension and reality there is. and p.s. it only says to magneto and prof. x. Phoenix isn't in his generation....people forget that phoenix isn't a human being but a sentinent being.

Hyperstorm. He had all the power of Hyperspace. Pheonix, at most, has the power of a star.
